I’ve just returned from an incredible university trip to Cairo, and I’m still processing what an amazing week it’s been!
From exploring the Pyramids of Giza and taking in the surreal view on a camel ride, to visiting the breathtaking Grand Egyptian Museum, every moment was filled with learning and culture.

After receiving one of the top two grades in my department, I had the amazing opportunity to visit Egypt, hosted by the American University of Cairo.

We were fortunate to visit two fantastic organisations – Right to Dream Egypt and PWC Egypt – where we gained valuable insights into how businesses operate and thrive in different cultural contexts. These visits opened my eyes to global business practices and were truly inspiring.

Other highlights included:

📚Attending engaging lectures on a range of business topics. The tourism and hospitality lecture on growth, investment and the evolving guest experience was particularly insightful to me as I was able to make links with my Global Tourism Development module in my International Tourism Management course.

🗺️Exploring the culture through visiting Old Cairo where we explored the markets and took part in a guided tour teaching us the rich history of the town, and indulging in the local cuisine. This was a true insight into local life and something I will never forget.

⚓ A river cruise along the Nile, where we celebrated with a closing dinner and certificate ceremony. It was the perfect way to reflect on an unforgettable week surrounded by inspiring peers and faculty.

I’m so grateful for this opportunity – to learn, explore, and grow both personally and professionally.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this experience possible, and to the incredible group of students who made this trip unforgettable✨
