Have you ever considered studying abroad in China?

This is an opportunity for you to study abroad for a 3-week period on an approved summer school programme at the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) at either the Beijing or Zhuhai Campus. The summer school will take place from 8 July – 29 July 2026.
For course details at BIT click here.

There are up to 20 summer school places available to undergraduate year 1 and 2 students, offering:

· Free tuition
· Free accommodation
· A Turing Scheme grant of £374 to help towards the cost-of-living
· Free University travel insurance

Up to £993 in additional Turing Scheme funding is available to home undergraduate students who meet the Turing Scheme criteria for disadvantage.
In line with the Turing Scheme’s aim to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, students who meet the Turing Scheme criteria for disadvantage will be prioritised in the allocation of funding for this opportunity.

Costs associated with this opportunity include:

· International travel (a return flight will typically cost £600 – £800+)
· Visa – Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Manchester
· Food and other living costs – cost-of-living in China

The funding provided will contribute towards your travel and living costs but may not cover all costs.
