What you need to know and do

The University is currently upgrading its student record system.

This upgrade is designed to improve your student experience while also increasing the security of your online data.

What does this mean for you?

To make the switch to the new system, there will be some planned downtime from 5pm on Friday 20 February to Friday 27 February.

During this time, access to some of the University systems will be limited, including:

  • Moodle
  • Career Hub
  • SkillsForge
  • StarRez  (Accommodation)

We’re working hard to keep this downtime to a minimum and to reduce any disruption.

Do I need to do anything to prepare for the downtime?

If you require access to any learning materials on Moodle between 5pm on Friday 20 February to Friday 27 February, you will need to:

  • Download any materials you might need (e.g. lecture slides, notes, assessment documents, and links to tools like Padlet or Miro).
  • If you have a Moodle assessment due during the planned downtime, you will be contacted directly in due course with alternative arrangements if needed.
  • Look out for updates from us via email.

Who do I contact if I need support?

If you have any questions or need support about systems or if you’re having problems with accessing course materials, please reach out to the IT Service Desk via:

You can also find information on assessments, your course and wellbeing support on our website.

Your patience during this transition is greatly appreciated.
