Final Year Business & Marketing Student
“Remember when we almost didn’t make it?” 😅
That’s what we were all saying on the coach home yesterday, laughing in disbelief.
This whole trip to McDonald’s UK Headquarters started as a university project months ago. Deadlines clashing, half the group juggling part-time jobs, Microsoft PowerPoint open at 3am, endless “where are we up to?” voice notes, and about 17 different versions of the doc. Proper chaos.
Time management? Non-existent. Sleep? Optional.
But yesterday… yesterday made every single late night worth it.🔥
6am train down to London, “We Dem Boyz”🎶 on repeat (tradition at this point), pulling up to McDonald’s UK HQ in Finchley like we actually belonged there.

We walked in as stressed final-year students. We walked out having presented to their marketing team, got brilliant feedback, asked proper questions to industry guest speakers, and left with insights on consumer behaviour, brand loyalty and real-world strategy that you just don’t get from lectures.
Even had senior people asking us questions afterwards like we weren’t just a bunch of final-years who’d survived on Red Bull and hope.

A massive, massive thank-you to our lecturer Ashley McCoy for organising such an insightful visit and for continuously supporting us throughout this entire module. 🙌
None of this happens without you pushing us, believing in us, and somehow keeping us all on track when we were falling apart at the seams.
Thank you to the incredible McDonald’s UK marketing team for welcoming us, giving our ideas real attention, and sharing game-changing insights yesterday , you made a tough uni project one of our proudest moments. Grateful beyond words! 🙌🍟
From thinking we’d embarrass ourselves… to standing in McDonald’s HQ absolutely buzzing.
This is what grinding looks like when it finally pays off.
