Why should I attend Week 6?

  • Enhance your global career readiness as part of your degree: featured sessions at Week 6 include keynote talks, workshops, short courses, and much more to support your career planning, help you move forward and get you where you want to be. We will highlight new opportunities over the next couple of weeks. This week make sure you sign up for our MIBT activities, including our cultural dance mixer and panel about coping with and embracing feedback.

Next week, we have GoGlobal: week 6, starting Monday 3rd March.  Incredibly, we have just over 2000 bookings already.   We have also closed 17 events as they are now fully booked, but don’t worry we have added new events.

It’s important to note that for external speakers, students will not be allowed in late to events.

Free food: If you want some free food, you must come to the registration desk with your student ID card to get a voucher (note that the vouchers will be given on a first-come, first-served basis). We appreciate not everyone will be eating, so we will encourage others to use the allocated spaces.

Free professional photos: Need a photo for your global LinkedIn profile? We have a professional photographer. Photos are emailed to your student email address 2-3 weeks after the event. There is no need to book. Monday 13.00-17.00 North Atrium.

What you need to know:

International students Attendance for your visa: you must complete a minimum of three events ON CAMPUS  and another one of your choice. We have  a bespoke event for you to help international students with their job search with an external expert: Rise x Future Me at Manchester Met

Students wanting to apply for a fully funded GoGlobal: Mobility visit, you must complete any four activities. If you want to learn more, attend an online session this  Friday 28th Feb at 11am Rise x Future Me at Manchester Met

All other students can choose what they would like to engage with.

What you need to know:

  • You MUST book events before the GoGlobal week, to be sure you can get a place.
  • If you are an **International student**, you know your attendance must be monitored each week carefully for your visa: For this week, you must participate and complete a minimum of four activities, Three MUST BE ON CAMPUS or one of the physical visits off-campus.
  • If you are a year foundation, 1 or 2 Undergraduate student and you want to apply for a fully funded GoGlobal: Mobility visit, an example can be read about here, please attend this session to learn what the criteria is so you do not miss out. Rise x Future Me at Manchester Met.
