By Ellie Haughton 3rd Year BA (Hons) Business and Marketing Undergraduate

Let’s rewind to last Tuesday where I attend my last seminar for my module Business and Marketing Professionals. During this seminar we worked within our teams to develop our business decisions and submit our final decision into the Cesim simulation software which we have been doing for the last 5 weeks.
(spoiler alert we won 🎉🥳)
For those who may not have a clue what I’m on about, let me explain. The Cesim simulation is essentially a business simulation where participants learn by running a virtual business in an interactive risk free and realistic environment. Weekly as teams we ran a mobile phone company tasks included: overviewing market outlooks , changes in global target segments , considered features , advertising, pricing , channel investments , R&D , customer care and more – really covering all aspects of real world companies.

Of course as students we needed an incentive to get stuck into the simulation so Ashley McCoy made it a competition with the winners receiving an Amazon voucher and the chance to be entered into the global competition against different universities.

I want to say a huge thank you to Ashley McCoy for making the seminars engaging and fun I’ve really enjoyed this module and I’m taking away a lot of new skills and experiences.
I also want to say a huge thank you to my team as well Matt Wilson James Buckley and Sophie Morris it has been an absolute pleasure working alongside you guys and wouldn’t have been possible achieving the outcome we did without all your support and work.
