You will assist the BAME Ambassador Project Coordinator to support and guide BAME students and those who are the first in their family to attend University to feel belonging and agency through activity that seeks to narrow the attainment gaps for those groups of students.

What’s the job?

Working in a team of 8 – 10 BAME Student Ambassadors, you will be responsible for assisting the BAME Ambassador Project Coordinator to develop inclusive student’s communities across the University in a prominent student facing role. You will facilitate and develop a sense of community and belonging and enable positive change for students of colour within your faculty of study and across the University. You will attend University and Union meetings to influence the highest levels leadership. You will be involved in producing Vlogs and Blogs, providing feedback and leading educational initiatives.

Staff from both the Union and University will provide you with training and support to undertake this role. You will be provided with regular development sessions and will receive support to identify and undertake activities aimed at improving outcomes and student experience.

+ First-hand experience of BAME communities and the issues relevant to students from the BAME diaspora
