Ellie Harrop – final year Marketing Management student
A chat between Dee Goldstraw (final year tutor) and Ellie Harrop, a final year Marketing Management student.
Dee: I hear you have recently secured a job, congratulations tell us what your job title is and which company you are working for?
Ellie: I’m currently a Marketing Executive working at Office Insight in Cheshire. I’ve been applying for marketing jobs since the start of the year and was in contact with recruitment agency, Heys.
The agency particularly liked that I was a self-motivated individual after recently starting my own e-commerce business, The Cornershop UK. I had an interview with a recruitment agent, she was delighted with the work I had already accomplished and wanted to put me across to potential employers.
Dee: How did you hear about the role and what was the interview process like?
Ellie: My recruitment agent put me forward for an interview with managing director at Office Insight where I was invited to my first zoom interview. At the end of the first interview, I was invited to the office for a second interview to deliver a presentation on how I could effectively generate leads. I was offered a full time job at the end of February, which I accepted.
Dee: That’s fantastic, what will your role at Office Insight involve?
Ellie: My role currently involves delivering a strategic marketing plan for the year. I effectively create and deliver marketing campaigns to lead and generate revenue. I do this using CRM systems to deliver the campaigns to Office Insight’s target audience.
I also work closely with external marketing agency, Clicku that helps me with SEO when blog writing and updating the website. Finally, I help support the sales team with targeted and reactive activity for leads across social media. I would usually travel to clients and create content for case studies to publish across social media platforms and the website.
Dee: Thank you for your time Ellie and good luck in your new role.
